DoorDash, the food delivery company, is looking to acquire Instacart, a grocery delivery company. The deal is considered to be in advanced talks, and an official announcement could come tomorrow.

CNBC reported that DoorDash and Instacart had been in contact regarding an acquisition. According to the report, the deal could be valued at $17 billion. Instacart (CART) shares were up on the news, while DoorDash (DASH) was down.

DoorDash specializes in food delivery, and Instacart focuses on grocery delivery, but there is some overlap in the two services. DoorDash has made a concerted effort to expand out of just delivering food from restaurants, expanding to grocery, retail, and even movie tickets.

If the deal goes through, it’ll be a massive shakeup in the food delivery business. In addition to Instacart, DoorDash competes with Uber Eats and GrubHub.
